Recently in the Cannabis and Hemp space we've been hearing a lot about terpenes in various flower strains, concentrates, and "full spectrum" products. This month I'm thrilled to feature Dr. Susan Trapp to teach us about terpenes! What are they? What do they do? What is their role in the industry?

About The Event
Happy May Cannabis Professionals!
Over the past few years in the Cannabis and Hemp space we've been hearing a great deal about terpenes in various flower strains, concentrates, and "full spectrum" products. This month I'm thrilled to feature Dr. Susan Trapp to teach us about terpenes! What are they? What do they do? What is their role in our bodies and in the future of the Cannabis and Hemp industries?
Susan Trapp, PhD has over 20 years of experience in the biotechnology field both as a plant molecular biology researcher and “beyond the lab bench”. She has held scientific, management, and early stage development positions within the biotech industry, academia, government, and start-up community, from algae biofuels to genomes. Susan has extensive research experience in the field of plant-fungal terpene genomics; for her PhD and postdoc research she examined molecular evolution of the largest class of plant natural products - TERPENES.
Her passion for genomics and the now exploding field of “omics” has been the mainstay of her career. Dr Trapp has participated on the human genome project with Venter, algae genomes, breast and dog cancer molecular marker signatures, and now – cannabis. Susan consults in the cannabis industry. In her spare time, Susan enjoys educating beyond cannabis and the sciences, she also enjoys teaching yoga, swimming and the disabled skiing.
